A tireless researcher and tender writer, filmmaker, and photographer, Anna Leah excels at finding unique people and bringing them to life.
Her work has been published on network news and internationally – including NBC, HuffPo, and Netflix. She edited The Restaurateur, a James Beard Award-winning film and archivally produced In Money We Trust, which received a silver Telly Award.
Through handcrafted, in-depth reporting, she focuses on building empathy with people who are often overlooked or oversimplified.
Born to hippie parents and raised in the South, Anna Leah learned early to listen to people who disagree with one another. She crystallizes how experiences, culture, and political-economic forces shape beliefs. Her work builds on her non-judgmental approach and ability to build intimate, mutual trust with people who rarely share their world with outsiders.
She will receive a master’s degree from the CUNY’s Craig Newmark School of Journalism where she focuses on feature writing, investigations, and learning to code.
A published poet, she enjoys books and podcasts about quirks of history and testing her intense fear of heights.
